eBay is seeking a dedicated, highly motivated and flexible teammate to work on various commercial transactions in support of our eBay Marketing initiatives. You will be drafting and negotiating a wide variety of contracts, including display, social and paid search partnerships, agency MSAs and SOWs, data licensing deals, affiliate agreements, and other marketing services contracts. You will also advise clients on the various legal risks, business strategies and other issues related to marketing transactions and general operations. Diligent and proactive, you have demonstrated excellent legal and business judgment, technical acumen, communication skills and strategic thinking, along with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.

  • Contract drafting, negotiation and advisory responsibilities for eBay's marketing products, strategic distribution partnerships and vendor relationships
  • Provide legal and strategic business advice to help develop a comprehensive, long-term approach to our relationships with key platform partners and the commercial aspects of our products and programs
  • Build and/or improve standard form agreements and legal processes that scale globally
  • Commercial transaction support for other departments as needed
  • Administration and resolution of legal issues and contract interpretation matters that arise in existing commercial relationships
  • Prioritize and manage simultaneous legal matters under tight timelines
  • Potentially manage and direct outside counsel

  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • 5+ years of relevant technology transactions experience (either in-house and/or at a global law firm)
  • Experience drafting, negotiating and managing technology deals (e.g., technology or data licensing, content distribution, platform integrations, etc.), ideally in the online marketing space
  • Experience leading negotiations with strategic partners and coordinating legal counsel across complex and multifaceted legal issues such as data protection and privacy, competition and other global legal frameworks
  • Experience working on and managing numerous projects and deals simultaneously under competing deadlines
  • Experience working effectively and collaboratively cross-functionally, exercising sound business judgment and a solution-oriented approach
  • Experience drafting (or readiness to draft) custom agreements from scratch (i.e. not from existing templates)
  • Readiness to own your seat at the negotiating table
