Who We're Looking for:
A Financial Services Company's Legal Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Managing Counsel.

The primary responsibility of this role is to collaborate with the Privacy Legal team to develop, implement, and oversee the company's privacy, cyber, and AI initiatives with an emphasis on negotiating contract terms related to these topics.

Reporting to the Privacy Managing Counsel, the person in this role will support the Legal department's objective of developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's privacy, cyber, and AI initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Develop, review, and negotiate privacy, cybersecurity, and AI terms for TFS contracts, including Data Protection Addendums for service provider and affiliate agreements.
  • Obtain a deep knowledge of TFS's operations and use of Personal Information in the operations. Advise on compliant uses of P.I.
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to better understand and be able to advise holistically on our products and relevant privacy and cybersecurity issues.
  • Keep apprised of new laws and regulations in all jurisdictions where TFS conducts business and advise on impact to business.
  • Assist in continuing to develop a comprehensive privacy program consistent with relevant laws.
  • Advise on other emergent and complex technology laws.
  • Strong drafting and negotiating skills with the ability to understand and simplify complex concepts and issues.

What you bring:
  • Four-year college degree and JD required.
  • Privacy certification (i.e. IAPP) is required or required to be obtained within the first 18 months of employment.
  • 2-5 years experience in the corporate field preferably in the privacy, data governance, and emerging technology space
  • Proficient in MS Office products
  • Conducting legal research
  • Excellent communicator in both verbal and written formats

Added bonus if you have:
  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience preferred
  • LexisNexis research and/or ChatGPT prompt engineer
  • Certification in Artificial Intelligence or Cybersecurity
