Job Summary:
This is an opportunity for a highly qualified and motivated health care lawyer to advise the HCSC enterprise pharmacy area, including federal regulatory. HCSC is the largest customer-owned health insurer in the United States, operating through its Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans in Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. This position will be part of the Legal Division's Pharmacy team and will provide counsel and direction to the company on specialized regulatory legal advice and complex issues regarding pharmacy-related matters.
In a highly complex and evolving regulatory environment, the ideal candidate will provide sound, actionable legal advice on regulatory, business, and operational pharmacy matters. A successful candidate will serve as a partner to our business leaders in developing adaptive strategies to support HCSC's established business and to further its growth while continually advancing HCSC's mission of expanding access to high-quality, cost-effective health care.
The position can be based in Chicago, Illinois; Richardson, Texas; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Helena, Montana; or Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Job Requirements:
- Law degree and license to practice law in the state where the legal department is located.
- 10 years legal experience in insurance or health care law, regulatory, litigation, legislative, and 2 years leadership experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically on legal and business issues, to deliver quality and timely legal services.
- Highly developed judgment skills and abilities.
Preferred Job Requirements:
5 - 7 years recent legal experience supporting PBMs, payors or pharmacies within the pharmaceutical industry
