Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). Ideal candidates must live within 50 miles of a PulsePoint location.The Managing Associate General Counsel Senior will be responsible for providing leadership and strategic oversight for all aspects of the Government Business Legal Team, with a specific focus on Medicaid managed care. Additionally, is responsible for providing in-depth knowledge of a Medicaid rules and regulations to provide advice and recommendations to executives and management on highly complex matters which have a broad organizational impact and high level of risk. Partners with clients to drive strategic outcomes and make complex decisions. Leads legal projects which have a broad organizational impact and high level of risk.
How you will make an impact:
- Creates legal strategies aimed at supporting the business objectives of the Medicaid line of business, assigned client groups and the company
- Oversees and leads on strategic legal initiatives impacting the government business
- Responsible for managing a team of attorneys and/or paralegals who provide legal support for clients
- Accomplishes strategic business results through assigned legal staff
- Serves as an expert for other attorneys and paralegals as well as business clients instructing and advising on strategic, technical and tactical issues
- Sets objectives for assigned legal team to ensure the clients and the company's business strategy are achieved
- Provides concise and timely briefings to senior level business and upper level legal management
- Works on extremely complex and multifaceted problems in which analysis of solutions and/or facts require an evaluation of intangible variables
- Develops methods, approaches and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
- Manages and participates in extensive research of legal principles and precedents and consults with outside counsel on legal strategies on particular issues
- This position is regarded as an expert in its area of expertise due to the combination of advanced legal and business knowledge
- Assesses and mitigates risk on the most difficult and challenging issues and manages high-level organizational risks
- Hires, trains, coaches, counsels and evaluates the performance of direct reports
Minimum Requirements:
- Requires a JD, current license to practice law and minimum of 15 years specific industry and/or technical legal experience post licensure including experience in managing a staff, department budget and outside counsel; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:
- Knowledge of business operations and ability to translate legal issues into business context
- Deep knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare managed care legal issues and ability to analyze complex legal issues, along with strong research and writing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with senior management and outside counsel
- Proven leadership abilities
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
- For candidates working in person or remotely in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $227,920 to $372,960.
