Job Overview:We are an AV-Rated firm seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney (8-10 years) to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various areas of law, including business law and civil litigation. This role requires exceptional legal research and drafting skills, as well as the ability to effectively represent clients in court. The Attorney will play a vital role in managing cases from inception through resolution, ensuring that all legal procedures are followed and that clients receive the highest level of service.
Duties:
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and negotiations.
- Manage a caseload effectively while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and staff within the law office to develop case strategies.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to business and civil litigation.
- Utilize Westlaw for comprehensive legal research and case management.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to practice law in state and federal court.
- 8-10 years of experience in litigation with a focus on business and civil litigation preferred.
- Strong skills in legal drafting and research capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Familiarity with Westlaw or similar legal research tools is highly desirable.
