Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Litigation Attorney to join our legal team and support our expanding business in the United States. This position is based in Parsippany, New Jersey. The Litigation Attorney is responsible for representing Midea in all cases with the goal of timely, effective, and efficient resolution. This is a Full-time, Exempt position reporting to the Americas Legal Counsel Head.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Be proficient in civil State and Federal Court processes, procedures, and filings.
  • Conduct skilled legal research, analysis, and advising.
  • Draft persuasive and effective, independent documents for court filings, from initial pleadings, discovery and discovery motions, dispositive motions, and trial filings.
  • Coordinate with other attorneys and staff for efficient and timely case progress.
  • Provide clear, organized communication with firm legal team, clients, and opposing counsel.
  • Effectively manage caseload and ensure team accountability to meet deadlines.
  • Stay up to date on changes in law and legal procedures.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of legal strategies.
  • Attend necessary court hearings and other legal proceedings.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Thorough understanding of court and related proceedings and documentation.
  • Thorough understanding of proper maintenance of all legal records.
  • Superior proficiency in administrative tasks.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Hard working, positive, and service-oriented character.
  • Excellent work ethic.
  • Must be proactive, versatile, adaptable, and able to think independently.
  • Must work well with a team and keeping track of deadlines, projects, and case status, with the goal of pushing litigation towards timely, effective, and efficient resolution.

Education & Experience:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to New Jersey state bar.
  • Satisfactory bar record with no disciplinary action within past 5 years.
  • 5-15 years' experience as a civil litigator, municipal law preferred but not required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.
  • Occasional travel to court and clients.
