Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of litigation (fact investigation, pleadings, discovery, experts, motions, pretrial, trial, settlement and so on), and develop and maintain strong business and client relationships for a diverse caseload.
- Conduct thorough legal research and draft persuasive pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
- Draft and review discovery, meet and confer letters, and discovery motions.
- Manage depositions including preparation and defense of client, and taking fact and expert witness depositions.
- Collaborate with partners, associates, and paralegals to assist in preparation for and conduct of trials and other evidentiary hearings, and to guide strategic decisions in complex litigation matters.
- Participate in active trials, on- site accident investigations, and provide other legal support, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Active California Bar License, in good standing.
- 2-7 years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in insurance defense and/or litigation.
- Experience in handling complex litigation matters, personal injury experience preferred.
- Proficiency in legal research databases and case management software, such as Centerbase and NetDocuments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
