Position Overview:
We are seeking to hire a junior level counsel to join our legal team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing legal support and business counsel for a broad range of corporate and business functions. You will also play a key role in shaping policies and processes to help our legal department scale.

Reports To: Employment & Litigation Counsel

Responsibilities:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, amendments, and templates including customer, reseller, partnership, master service, non-disclosure, termination, and other commercial agreements
  • Assist with M&A and other strategic transactions, including minority investments and banking transactions
  • Assist on employment matters including, but not limited to wage and hour issues, reasonable accommodations, leaves of absence, sick leave, PTO, compensation plans, employee performance, separations, immigration, pay equity, and employee benefits
  • Assist with general company litigation, administrative claims, customer claims and customer disputes Perform comprehensive legal research across a wide variety of subject areas and jurisdictions.
  • Provide general corporate legal advice and prepare corporate documents
  • Monitor and manage the company's IP portfolio and assist product and technology teams with IP concerns
  • Provide sound, practical, and strategic legal advice to HR, finance, tax, product & tech and marketing
  • Provide counsel and guidance to management and other internal parties on legal, ethical, business conduct, and compliance matters
  • Help scale the legal department and implement operational efficiencies
  • Partner with functional groups within the company on both transactional work and risk analysis
  • Maintain awareness of current and applicable developments in the legal and regulatory landscape
  • Assist with complex business, legal, and strategic issues as needed

Requirements:
  • BBA / BA / BS degree required
  • JD required + admission to any state / DC bar
  • 2-3 years' experience
