This role will include counseling on competition, trade and economic sanctions issues, monitoring legal and regulatory trends and identifying future areas of competition and sanctions risk.

About the Team:
This is an opportunity to be part of a global legal team that provides counsel on competition, trade and economic sanctions across A Leading Providers of Reinsurance and Insurance Company's businesses and multiple jurisdictions. As part of the team, you will provide pragmatic, solution driven counsel to the business, senior management, contracts and legal and compliance colleagues.

About the role:
Key Responsibilities include:
  • Provide legal advice on the full range of competition law issues including behavioral, transactional and contentious issues
  • Serve as subject matter expert on trade and economic sanctions laws and regulations, including providing advice to ensure compliance with US, UK, EU and Swiss regimes, and drafting and reviewing sanctions-related contractual provisions
  • Assess and advise on potential regulatory issues and reporting requirements
  • Monitor relevant legal trends and developments
  • Engage and manage relationships with external counsel

This position also contributes to quarterly and annual legal reports and group wide, business unit or division projects and initiatives. And also supports the development efficient policies and practices to promote and maintain high legal and ethical standards.

About You:
We are seeking an outstanding communicator, able to provide high quality, timely and pragmatic client service, balanced with a clear focus on protecting the interests and reputation of A Leading Providers of Reinsurance and Insurance Company. High level of ethics and integrity is a must.

Requirements also include:
  • University degree and qualified lawyer admitted to practice in the United States.
  • Minimum of 4+ years' post qualification experience in a financial crime legal advisory role with a specific focus on competition law and sanctions gained in a law firm and/or working as in-house counsel in a multi-national organization
  • Prior experience of working with, and advising on, financial crime, sanctions and competition compliance frameworks, policies and processes
  • Proficiency in other languages in addition to English is a plus
