Your Role:
Are you an attorney experienced in legal and regulatory matters related to investment management and/or specializing in private investment funds, including the formation of new investment vehicles, transactions and regulatory and compliance issues related to the management of private investment funds?

We are looking for an attorney:
  • to work with all different control functions, and investment and marketing teams and UBS affiliates who distribute Asset Management investment funds and managed accounts.
  • to support the investment teams with transactions.
  • knowledgeable in the 1940 Investment Advisers Act, 1940 Investment Company Act, ERISA, BHCA and the Volcker Rule.
  • experienced with the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 is a strong plus, along with familiarity with AIFMD and UCITS, as well as the terms of prime brokerage and ISDA agreements.

You'll be working with a team of lawyers dedicated to supporting UBS Asset Management's alternatives businesses. The team works closely with the business and control functions as well as with outside counsel to support and review all UBS Asset Management activities in the Americas region. The broader UBS Asset Management Americas internal legal team supports traditional, alternative, real estate and trading agreement work streams including investment product structuring, regulatory and transaction support.

Your Expertise:
Your expertise:
  • a JD degree and licensed to practice law in any US state.
  • 3+ years investment management experience. Work experience at a top law firm, a financial institution or a hedge fund is preferred.
  • experience with private fund- and bank-related regulatory frameworks, including the Securities Act of 1933, Securities Exchange Act of 1934, Investment Advisers Act of 1940, Investment Company Act of 1940, Dodd Frank, Bank Holding Company Act and ERISA, as well as regulations promulgated under FINRA, CFTC and the NFA.
  • working knowledge of non-US regulations such as AIFMD, MIFID, EMIR and UCITS.
  • ability to work in a large organization and collaboratively with many different groups in the bank.
  • must be able to project manage as well as supervise work among outside counsel and other service providers.
  • work on a global platform and therefore understand how to find cross-border solutions which will involve many different issues from the relevant jurisdictions.
  • strong time management skills and efficient utilization of technology.

Salary information
CA, CO, WA and NY basd roles: The salary range for this role is $170,000 to $210,000 based on experience, education, and skill level. This role may be eligible for discretionary incentive compensation. For benefits information:
