Snyk is looking for an experienced commercial attorney with an entrepreneurial mindset to support the Americas sales teams with commercially-driven legal advice, strong drafting skills and a tenacious, “can-do” work ethic.As Legal Counsel at Snyk:
You will be based in the Eastern time zone of the US, working either from the Boston office or remotely or a mixture of both. You will report to the newly appointed VP, Legal - Commercial, Product & Privacy in the UK, and will collaborate closely with cross-functional team members from around the globe, including in finance, GTM, sales operations, marketing and procurement. Your approach is pragmatic, customer focused and collaborative – your goal is to reduce friction and enable the business and its customers. You will have excellent contract drafting and business negotiation skills gained in both private practice AND in-house. You'll use that knowledge to negotiate and guide complex deals with large enterprise customers, work with channel partners and work closely with the procurement team on process improvements.
You'll spend your time:
- Drafting, reviewing and closing a broad range of commercial agreements, including software licensing and SaaS.
- Training the regional sales team, updating legal playbooks and improving contracting documents and processes.
- Assisting with expansion into new geographies, setting up regional entities and managing intra-group relationships
- Assisting with legal department projects, including efforts to develop, implement and enhance processes that improve transaction velocity without material increases in risk.
- Anything else that gets thrown your way as needed to support a dynamic, innovative company.
You should apply if:
- 8+ years experience working in a top law firm and in-house as a commercial counsel for a fast growing company
- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and managing a high value and broad range of complex commercial agreements with large enterprise customers, strategic partners and channel partners.
- Experience assisting with enablement of the Sales team
- Experienced in review and improvement of templates, systems, practices and processes
- Providing legal advice on new go-to-market activities and initiatives
- Excellent relationship skills and ability to work cross functionally with other and go-to-market teams.
- Experience of people management in an in-house legal team
- Experience of handling privacy issues in the context of commercial transactions
