Description:

About the role:
We are offering a Law Clerk program for recent law school graduates. Our Law Clerk program is designed as a year-long rotational experience across the various sub-practice areas within our legal department, and is full-time. The law clerk will get broad experience with an opportunity to learn about what the practice of law looks like inside a global, publicly traded retailer.

As our law clerk, you will experience what in-house attorneys do on a day-to-day basis through a variety of substantive and challenging work assignments, including legal research, memo writing, contract drafting and negotiating, and opportunities to partner with managing attorneys on pro bono matters. You will develop skills to coordinate and lead internal and external meetings, build business partnerships, create networking opportunities and be a dynamic presenter as you interact with our corporate functions and our brands.

We recognize that training and mentorship are critical components in every attorney's professional development and success. Our law clerk program includes access to virtual and in-person training through Gap Inc.'s Learning and Development team and resume writing and interview workshops. In addition, our law clerk will be matched with a managing attorney mentor to ensure a successful experience – serving as a resource, and providing useful advice and guidance as questions and challenges arise.

What You'll Do:
Our law clerk program has three main goals: (1) professional development opportunities, (2) relationship building and (3) access to managing attorneys and legal leadership. Our law clerk will have the opportunity to take on various responsibilities across practice areas, including providing research on various legal issues, contract drafting, review and negotiating, supporting our document management system, and other tasks, as assigned.
