Overall Responsibility:We are seeking a highly detail-oriented professional to join its legal department as a Junior Counsel. This is a multi-faceted role and will include preparing for and conducting trials, especially administrative hearings. It will also include supporting the General Counsel in a multitude of internal and external projects the legal department is responsible for. The position requires an individual with excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task. Candidate must be open to learning real estate valuation, appraisals, appraisal techniques and government governing regulations and professional guidance, USPAP, Appraisal Institute publications, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare for and conduct trials, especially administrative hearings
- Support the General Counsel in a multitude of internal and external projects
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience
- The ability to handle a large and active caseload from filing through verdict
- Pride in your client-focused practice
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task
- An innate curiosity that makes you an excellent investigator and problem-solver
- Impeccable verbal and written communication skills that allow you to effectively manage relationships with a variety of people
- Formidable negotiation skills
- A license in good standing to practice law in Florida
