We are a law firm practicing in the exciting areas of social media, constitutional law, and internet defamation. We are looking for a lawyer who is passionate about these areas. The right candidate will be a law school grad or graduating law student who lives in New York or New Jersey or who is an applicant to the New Jersey or New York bar.Excellent writing skills, law review or clinic experience and prior law firm experience especially in New Jersey or New York would be ideal.
This is a virtual position. Please apply only if that interests you. We operate virtually and our office is our online environment except for once or twice a month.
You'll be responsible for performing legal research, drafting documents, and keeping client files up to date.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff
- Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action
- Perform legal research, prepare for and attend hearings or other legal proceedings, and give general counsel under the supervision of senior associate attorneys
- Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
- Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
Qualifications:
- Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base
- Effective communication skills and problem-solving skills are necessary to work with all levels of staff and clients
- Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association)
- Completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school
- Candidates must have passed the bar exam
