Position Overview:The Part-Time In-House Counsel will provide legal support across various matters, including contract review and negotiation, regulatory tracking, and strategic legal research. This is an excellent opportunity for a J.D. interested in healthcare, life sciences, or research industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, negotiate, and occasionally draft, a variety of contracts including Clinical Trial Agreements, Confidential Disclosure Agreements, and clinical trial-related documents.
- Conduct legal research, especially related to federal laws and regulations relevant to biotechnology and pharmaceutical development.
- Monitor and interpret pending legislation, proposed rules, and regulatory trends affecting clinical trials and drug development.
- Collaborate with leadership and external counsel to guide business decisions and ensure compliance.
- Support the development and review of internal policies and procedures from a legal perspective.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school.
- Active bar license not required, though legal research and writing skills must be excellent.
- Prior legal experience; experience as in house counsel within the fields of healthcare, life sciences, or regulated industries preferred.
- Familiarity with contract law, FDA regulations, or clinical research law is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and communicate clearly with non-lawyers.
