We are on the lookout for a seasoned General Counsel with expertise in SOC2 and PCI compliance. This role is crucial for navigating the complex legal landscape of financial technology, focusing on compliance, risk management, and legal advisory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance Leadership: Spearhead our SOC2 and PCI compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to legal standards and best practices.
- Legal Advisory: Provide expert legal advice on compliance matters, including data protection, privacy laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with SOC2 and PCI compliance, advising on strategies to navigate these challenges.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures, ensuring they are legally sound and effective.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, particularly IT and security teams, to integrate compliance into all operational aspects.
- External Audits and Reporting: Oversee external audits for SOC2 and PCI compliance, ensuring legal and regulatory adherence.
- Vendor and Client Contracts: Review and negotiate contracts with clients and vendors, focusing on compliance and risk management clauses.
- Continuous Legal Education: Stay abreast of changes in compliance laws and regulations, adapting our strategies and policies accordingly.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience in legal counsel, with a strong focus on SOC2 and PCI compliance in the fintech sector.
- Familiarity with data protection and privacy laws.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
