Description:
Position Summary:The General Counsel is expected to be the primary in-house legal expert for a broad range of matters, including but not limited to, commercial contracts, business development agreements, capital market compliance, corporate governance, and intellectual property management. Success in the role is supported by existing corporate infrastructure and access to external legal counsel. The role is cross-functional and global, with independent reporting responsibility to the CEO.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Legal advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors, and company management
- Drafting and review of commercial and business agreements
- Oversee compliance with healthcare, employment, business, and securities regulation
- Develop overall legal strategy and infrastructure
- Manage interactions with outside counsel
- Manage litigation strategy
Job Requirements:
Required/Desired Qualifications:
- J.D. with excellent academic credentials highly preferred
- 4+ years of legal experience in-house or in a relevant firm highly preferred
- Relevant legal experience in healthcare, technology, IP global businesses, and public companies preferred
- Ability to write clearly and concisely, detail oriented, reliable, responsive, independently driven
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
