Description:
The position: The General Counsel member will be responsible for managing litigation and overseeing the legal matters of the business as a whole, including acting as the business' legal representativeMain Responsibilities:
- Advising executive members on new laws, existing laws and legal rights that would impact functionality of the business
- Maintaining knowledge of the company's legal documents and operations
- Crafting and reviewing legal strategy in response to any litigation
- Keeping a record of all legal documents and proceedings for the company
- Facilitating filings of licensing forms and other statutory requirements
- Communicating with outside counsel
- Legally filing for copyright of intellectual property
- Answering questions and responding to Litigation inquiries.
- Managing employee Relations through Bambee HR support
- Approve and file lawsuits, and transition to litigation assistant.
- Responding to CEO's daily support requests
- Updating templates
- Dealing with escalated issues
- Manages notifications received to ensure timely responses where required
- Tracks and monitors litigated title claim issues and provide reporting to management and clients
- Prepares and distributes monthly management and executive reports
- Attends client meetings and provides updates related to litigation, title, and compensatory fees
- Attends state/county hearings or mediations as needed
- Participates in off-site due diligence reviews
- Completes other duties and projects as assigned by CEO
Qualifications:
- Ability to quickly and efficiently respond to staff questions
- Ability to professionally handle escalated staff problems
- Proficiency in email, word, excel, and software Clio
- Excellent time management and organization
- Previous project management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented ability to successfully manage multiple priorities, and possess the ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Attorney or previous legal experience required
