Equi is seeking a General Counsel / Head of Legal who can take the lead and is excited at working hand-in-hand with our CEO to support the activities of our tech platform and registered investment adviser. This role requires a strong blend of strategic thinking, legal expertise, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with the executive team, department heads, and stakeholders to drive legal/strategic excellence and support the company's overall mission. Our company is rapidly growing and this is an incredible opportunity for anyone that’s fascinated by alternative investments and technology.

You would oversee our unregistered funds, publicly registered closed-end funds, future product development, and the overall legal strategy of the firm. You will develop, implement, and own the legal strategy for the firm leveraging a combination of internal and external resources. You should have a keen understanding of public and private fund formation, on-shore/off-shore marketing laws, corporate governance, general corporate and capital markets, securities law, commercial and financing transactions.

This is not your first rodeo - you’ve likely worked in big law, financial services, or the FinTech space before and are very familiar with alternative investments. Critically, you are a technologist, and therefore view the world through the lens of the exponentially accelerating technology world we live in. That means you look for ways to create leverage through software, automation, and better processes. You’re detail oriented, strategic, and highly conscientious. You’re interested in being part of a startup, and you know how to take an idea from zero to one within an organization. You’ll be expected to think critically, creatively, and "outside the box" as you work with others to scale Equi.
