Job Summary:Castro Law Offices is seeking a compassionate, strategic, and dedicated Family Law Attorney to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and families navigating some of life's most challenging transitions.
The ideal candidate will have experience handling a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, property division, domestic violence restraining orders, parentage actions, and post-judgment modifications. We are looking for an attorney who combines strong legal advocacy with empathy, professionalism, and exceptional client service.
As a member of our team, you will manage your own caseload, collaborate with experienced attorneys and support staff, and develop creative legal strategies to help clients achieve favorable outcomes both in and out of the courtroom.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in all stages of family law proceedings, including dissolution of marriage, legal separation, child custody and visitation disputes, child and spousal support matters, property division, domestic violence restraining orders, and parentage actions
- Conduct legal research and analysis to develop effective case strategies and provide sound legal advice
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, declarations, settlement agreements, discovery requests and responses, and other legal documents
- Appear in court for hearings, settlement conferences, case management conferences, and trials
- Negotiate settlements and resolutions that align with clients' goals while minimizing conflict whenever possible
- Manage a diverse caseload from initial consultation through final resolution
- Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding case developments, strategy, and expectations
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management and exceptional client service
- Stay current on developments in California family law and relevant procedural rules
Experience:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in the California State Bar in good standing
- Family law experience preferred
- Strong litigation, negotiation, legal writing, and courtroom advocacy skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with clients during emotionally challenging circumstances
- Experience with Clio, Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar legal technology platforms is a plus
