We are seeking an energetic, bright and self-motivated attorney to join our firm. The ideal candidate has 3 to 5 years of experience as an attorney or paralegal specializing in real estate closing transactions, can work well individually, and would feel comfortable speaking about our firm in public settings. Candidates with an existing book of business will enjoy an enhanced pay structure, combining a guaranteed base salary with lucrative revenue sharing opportunities tied to their portfolio. The candidate must pay close attention to detail and have ability to communicate efficiently and personably via email. Must be licensed in the State of Illinois and in good standing with the ARDC.

Our boutique law firm specializes primarily in real estate transactions and we are looking for an associate who is excited about the culture of a boutique law firm. There is large room for growth within the firm in terms of responsibility and salary.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Review purchase and sale contracts
  • Maintain files
  • Draft attorney modification letters
  • Communicate with all parties including real estate agent, lender and client
  • Calendar all contract dates and contingencies and draft extension requests
  • Prepare a closing checklist, which includes outlining critical dates and the responsibilities of all parties
  • Coordinate closings with all parties in the transaction, including the buyer, seller, title insurance company, opposing counsel, and lender
  • Prepare closing documents
  • Obtain and prepare corporate documents, including authorization of the applicable parties to purchase/sell
  • Obtain closing figures from the bank and prorate amounts for real and property taxes, utilities, and rent
