Description:An Estates & Probate Attorney II is mid-level attorney with 4 -6 years' experience practicing law. The successful Attorney II is self-directed and thrives with lots of support and autonomy. The Attorney II generally receive a substantial portion (approximately 75%) of their work through A Richland, Washington (WA) Law Firm's lead generation and marketing and/or other attorneys in the office. An Attorney II is expected to generate a portion (25%) of their own billable work and attend four events per quarter. Attorneys have access to coaching and support services for business development and networking. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mediation experience
- Trial experience
- Researching and analyzing the law on complex legal issues
- Writing memorandums, briefs, letters, and other documents
- Professional attitude with a strong sense of discretion to keep sensitive information secure and private
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills when working with clients, members of the court and other employees
- Strong organizational abilities and time management skills to handle many cases at once
- Marketing your and the firm's services to prospective clients
- Performing discovery of various electronically stored data and hard copies of information in preparation for litigation
- Performing due diligence in legal matters concerning contracts, agreements, and mergers and acquisitions
- Managing a schedule to allow for consults and closure of consults to sufficient reach production/collection objectives. Depending on practice area this may include outside core hour and weekend consults.
- Closing consults within A Richland, Washington (WA) Law Firm range of 30-50% depending on practice area.
- Timely approval of invoices is critical to the health of the business on a month-to-month basis monthly cycle. Failure to do so on a recurring basis may result in disciplinary and timely financial.
- Ensure support staff are fully utilized and productive.
- Accurately and completely update CC with fees, engagement, trust, client information, invoices etc. as required.
- If over-subscribed share work tasks with other attorney and support staff to ensure we are meeting our objective to serve our communities.
- Actively engage in brand (personal and firm) expansion through blogs social media posts, board, and organization participation, etc.
- Actively seek positive comments from successful client engagements and positive star reviews.
- Communicating and advising clients
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements*:
- Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent legal research skills.
- Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
- Admission (or eligibility for reciprocal admission) to the bar in the state in which you intend to practice.
- 4-6 years of experience as an attorney.
