Description:

Smith Haughey Rice and Roegge seeks an experienced Estate Planning Attorney to join our firm's West Michigan-based Private Client Services practice group. Candidates must have experience providing sophisticated legal advice, plan design, and document drafting in areas including basic estate planning, tax and wealth transfer planning, business succession planning, trust and estate administration, and be conversant in general business and real property matters. Candidates will work primarily from our firm's Holland and Grand Rapids offices but may also occasionally serve clients from our Muskegon and Ann Arbor offices.

Five to seven years of experience is preferred, but we welcome conversations with attorneys or small groups with more or less experience. Portable books of business are a positive, but not required. CPA credentials, MST or LLM in tax degrees, probate court clerk experience, or trust company experience would be welcomed. Candidates should be licensed to practice in Michigan. The firm offers a collegial team environment and candidates must be able to thrive in such a setting. Competitive salary and generous benefits include a relocation package. All inquiries will be held strictly confidential.

The firm's Private Client Services practice group works closely with the firm's business, real property, and litigation practice groups providing estate planning and administration, wealth transfer planning for high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients, business succession planning, family law, and general transactional support. We are respected for a culture that expects excellence while preserving a welcoming, down-to-earth feel.
