Meub Associates, PLC is a small law firm dedicated to meeting the many different legal needs of individuals, organizations, and businesses throughout Southern Vermont. Our firm uses a unique team approach so we can provide all of our clients with exceptional legal work and individual support. The Position:
The Attorney will be part of a team of attorneys (currently 4) and support staff (currently 4) that work closely together in a small but busy law firm (an another attorney just left the firm to be an assistant State's attorney in Bennington county). The Attorney will generally be handling transactional work, real estate, commercial real estate, foreclosure actions, and civil litigation. Because we are a small law firm with a wide variety of cases, there will also be the opportunity for the Attorney to gain work experience in other areas of the law, including construction law, education law, estate planning, and probate law.
Responsibilities:
- Meeting with potential clients / client screening
- Dealing directly with current clients and providing legal advice to clients on all aspects of their case
- Drafting and/or reviewing business contracts, deeds, purchase and sale agreements, and all other necessary transactional legal documents
- Performing title searches and/or other searches in relevant Land Records
- Producing title reports
- Initiating and pursuing foreclosure actions in Vermont Superior Court
- Working with other attorneys at the firm on larger transactional matters and/or other legal matters and civil litigation as necessary.
Qualifications:
Licensed Vermont Attorney: An ideal candidate is an attorney admitted to practice in Vermont with at least 2 years of experience, however, candidates with less experience are still encouraged to apply and will be considered even if they have to take the Vermont Bar admission test.
