As a tech-forward firm, we are seeking a self-motivated attorney with strong ethics who is eager to take the lead in building and eventually leading an employment law team in Chicago. The ideal candidate is committed to practicing employment law long-term and demonstrates cultural awareness and sensitivity with all clients. While there is no strict billable hour requirement, attorneys in this role are expected to record approximately 1,700 billable hours annually to meet their revenue goals. Responsibilities:
- Lead a litigation team with plans to oversee a case manager, paralegal, and associate(s) in the future.
- Ensure all clients are proactively prepared and organized for their cases
- Direct, review, and approve the teamwork of an Associate and Paralegal
- Attend depositions, medications, and hearings
- Communicate / touch base with each client every 30 days
Requirements:
- An ability to come to the Minneapolis office on a quarterly basis (firm pays for travel)
- Barred in Illinois with knowledge of the court systems
- 5+ years of litigation experience as an Associate Attorney
- Experience managing multiple employees in a litigation setting
- Very driven and entrepreneurial with outstanding client relations skills
- Tech-oriented and adaptable to new systems
- The ability to be concise, yet empathetic throughout all client interactions
- The ability to represent a client with different beliefs than your own
Bonus Experience

- Have practiced Civil litigation, personal injury, and/or employment defense
