The goal of the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada Diversity and Justice Fellowship is to encourage law students who are minorities—and/or from diverse backgrounds and who plan to practice in Nevada—to explore careers in public interest law. Experienced attorneys who also come from diverse backgrounds will mentor the summer fellow in providing access to justice to low-income and vulnerable individuals in our community.Legal Aid Center will award the Diversity and Justice Fellowship to a current law student. The fellow will gain practical legal skills from researching, drafting documents, communicating with clients, and working with a small number of attorneys in one of our project areas (Family Justice Project, Children's Attorneys Project, or Consumer Rights Project) throughout the summer.
The application period for summer 2025 opens January 20, 2025.
Fellowship Details
Application requirements are listed below. Preference will be given to a law student who wants to work in a public interest law firm and help build trust and confidence in the justice system.
The fellow will begin in May. The fellowship stipend is $12,000 and is paid in installments on the 1st and 15th of the month.
