You may be just the right candidate for this or other open roles.Amyris is seeking an attorney with experience in compliance and litigation capable of assisting with selected areas of in-house legal representation. The Director, Corporate Counsel will report to the VP, Head of Compliance and Litigation and work with Amyris' General Counsel, members of Amyris' in-house legal team, outside counsel, and multiple client groups within the company.
Responsibilities:
- Advance Amyris's interests in various disputes
- Manage and assist outside counsel on complex matters
- Build systems for efficient e-discovery
- Assist with contracts compliance processes
- Assist with development and implementation of Amyris's compliance program and policies
- Monitor new and changing laws and anticipate evolving liability and risk
- The successful candidate will work collaboratively and responsively with a broad range of people domestically and internationally, and maintain and build great relationships between legal, corporate, finance, human resources and operations
Basic Qualifications:
- JD degree from accredited law school
- Licensed attorney in California in good standing
- 5+ years of prior litigation and compliance experience at a major law firm
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years experience in-house preferred
- Strong research, writing and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines
- Excellent ability to issue spot and integrate legal advice with business goals
- Litigation experience includes commercial disputes, product liability, advertisement, consumer protection, customer complaints, securities and shareholder derivative litigation
- Litigation experience also includes management of e-discovery, responses to subpoenas, mediation, settlement negotiations and agreements
- Compliance experience includes knowledge of relevant laws and regulations and experience in conducting risk assessments, employee training, and benchmarking policies and procedures
- Employment law experience is a plus
- Ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment, as well as in a small team environment

$160,500 - $289,000 a year

The annual pay range for this role is $160,500 to $289,00. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis, and will vary based on the candidate's skills, depth of experience and specific work location.??This role is also eligible for incentive pay, equity in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and stock options.
