Description:
Barnes & Thornburg LLP seeks a highly motivated and experienced Debt Finance Associate. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in debt finance, with a strong preference for candidates who also have experience in acquisition financings and copyright and/or entertainment law.Key Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on a wide range of debt financing transactions, including corporate debt facilities, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, project finance, and other complex financial arrangements.
- Draft, review, and negotiate loan agreements, security documents, and other related financing documents.
- Provide strategic legal advice to clients in matters related to finance and secured transactions.
- Work collaboratively with partners, associates, and support staff to provide high-quality legal services to our clients.
- Conduct due diligence and perform legal research to support ongoing transactions.
- Stay abreast of developments in debt finance to provide cutting-edge legal advice.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top-tier law school.
- Active membership in the bar of New York.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in debt finance, preferably at a large law firm.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with clients in an entertainment industry or private credit and private equity space.
- Familiarity with copyright law and intellectual property issues.

Salary:
The base salary range for this position is $260,000 – $365,000 (commensurate with experience). Performance-based bonus eligible.
