Debt Finance Associate

Description:

Barnes & Thornburg LLP seeks a highly motivated and experienced Debt Finance Associate. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in debt finance, with a strong preference for candidates who also have experience in acquisition financings and copyright and/or entertainment law.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise clients on a wide range of debt financing transactions, including corporate debt facilities, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, project finance, and other complex financial arrangements.
• Draft, review, and negotiate loan agreements, security documents, and other related financing documents.
• Provide strategic legal advice to clients in matters related to finance and secured transactions.
• Work collaboratively with partners, associates, and support staff to provide high-quality legal services to our clients.
• Conduct due diligence and perform legal research to support ongoing transactions.
• Stay abreast of developments in debt finance to provide cutting-edge legal advice.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top-tier law school.
• Active membership in the bar of New York.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in debt finance, preferably at a large law firm.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with clients in an entertainment industry or private credit and private equity space.
• Familiarity with copyright law and intellectual property issues.

Salary:
The base salary range for this position is $260,000 – $365,000 (commensurate with experience). Performance-based bonus eligible.
