Ralls & Wille is a small, boutique firm that practices mostly in federal criminal cases (drug and firearm trafficking, money laundering, extraditions, and white-collar crime). The firm has operated for over forty years in Tucson, Arizona. Because of our small size and longevity, our firm acts like a family, with respect and care paid to our employees. We are looking for someone to join our team for the long run—someone who loves the subject matter as much as we do and who feels the same sense of accomplishment at producing great work while serving those facing dire circumstances.

Job Responsibilities:
The attorneys at Ralls & Wille collaborate and work as a team on all cases taken by the firm. A single attorney acts as a lead, and so each attorney must be capable of fully managing a client and his or her case from start to finish. At the same time, they also share decision-making in each case and regularly delegate portions of a case to whichever attorney can most effectively tackle a particular task. Our firm keeps a very low case volume, which provides our attorneys with sufficient time to exhaust all possible routes of defense while remaining accessible to our clients.

The majority of our cases are based in Arizona, whether at the Federal or State level in Tucson or Phoenix. In addition, our founding partner has litigated cases in California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Today, the firm normally has a handful of cases in other Districts.

Work Hours and Benefits
Our firm has normal business hours (8:00am to 5:00pm), but we all have families and try to accommodate one another. The firm provides health, eye, and dental insurance (for employees and dependents), a life insurance policy, and tuition/student loan contributions through the CARES Act.

For retirement benefits, the firm has a Simplified Employee Pension (SEP-IRA) plan, ensuring that every owner and employee of the firm has the same compensation-to-retirement-contribution ratio.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Strong writing background;
  • Creative and innovative problem-solving;
  • Little inertia when tackling a new task.
  • Strong computer literacy, with the ability to independently resolve technological problems; and,
  • Emotional intelligence.

Education and Experience:
  • Juris Doctorate;
  • Qualified for membership in the Arizona District Court's bar;
  • Familiarity with, or enthusiasm to learn about: Adobe (OCR, etc.), Word (Styles, Fields, Templates), and Excel (management of voluminous disclosure).
  • Qualities that would be nice, but not required: Spanish fluency, prosecution experience, Federal clerkship experience, and/or strong trial background.

We are excited to hear from you and to explore the possibility of working together in the future. Please include a resume, a writing sample, and references when reaching out. Due to the sensitive nature of our work, before hiring, candidate will need to undergo background check.
