Position Summary: The Rulings and Regulations Bureau seeks to hire a Counsel II to assist with tax research and responses to requests for guidance from taxpayers and tax practitioners. The ideal candidate will have strong research and writing skills and an interest in state tax policy. Experience with state or federal tax law is preferred. The position also involves working with representatives of other agencies, including the Legislature, collaborating with stakeholders, and drafting various public written statements and memoranda regarding tax legislation.Qualifications:

Minimum Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, admission to the Massachusetts Bar and (A) at least three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in the practice of law.
Incumbents may be required to have a current and valid Motor Vehicle Drivers License at a Class level specific to assignment.
