Job Description
The position of Corporate Counsel provides legal advice and direction to the BerQ RNG management team. This is a generalist role that is accountable for a variety of corporate and transactional legal functions. The incumbent may specialize in a single area but must be familiar with a broad range of relevant areas of business law.
We are looking for a dynamic team member with a positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills who is used to working on multiple projects at the same time and is equally comfortable working independently and in a team setting.
Responsibilities:
- Providing practical legal advice that furthers business strategies/objectives
- Structuring and negotiating a variety of business transactions
- Drafting contracts for the purchase or sale of assets and strategic investments, financing agreements, construction and engineering contracts, confidentiality agreements and letters of intent
- Counseling business teams on legal and compliance matters relating to contracts and transactions
- Directing and conducting legal due diligence efforts
- Managing legal and business risks

- Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills

BerQ RNG requires that all applicants possess the following skills and experience:
- 3-6 years of experience as a corporate/transactional lawyer with strong preference for energy experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and very strong organizational skills
- Excellent judgment and strong leadership capabilities; highly creative with an entrepreneurial drive and strategic thinking skills
- Highly motivated, proactive, able to work independently and as part of a team with a substantially high degree of initiative and drive
- Capable of working in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
