Job Description:As a Corporate Counsel, you will provide transactional legal support across key business areas, including Digital, Analytics, and Technology. You'll partner closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams to advise on contracts, risk, and compliance with a practical, risk-balanced approach. In this role, you'll manage a high volume of agreements while helping drive efficient processes and new ways of working. This is an opportunity to influence complex initiatives and support the business in moving forward with confidence.
This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work on site Monday through Thursday at the Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. You can work virtually from home or another non‑Best Buy location on Friday. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
What You'll Do:
- Draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements across the business, with an emphasis on technology transactions
- Advise stakeholders on risk, compliance, and business-related legal matters
- Partner with cross-functional teams to understand objectives and support outcomes
- Manage a high volume of agreements and multiple transactions simultaneously
- Improve contracting processes and contribute to new tools, templates, and ways of working
Basic Qualifications:
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in Minnesota
- 3 years of post-bar experience in law firm, government, or corporate settings
- 2 years supporting complex commercial contracts in the technology space
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience drafting SaaS, cloud, software, AI, telecom, or technology-related agreements
- Familiarity with AI, data privacy, and data security regulations
- Ability to evaluate complex issues and provide practical legal advice
- Strong relationship-building skills with business and cross-functional partners
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
