Lake Indigent Defense provides legal representation for indigent and low income people charged with crimes in Lake County by contracting with independent criminal defense attorneys. We are currently seeking an independent contractor to accept court appointments in misdemeanor cases. The contractor will be responsible for handling all stages of representation at the trial court level. Contractors are paid a monthly flat fee.This position is ideal for a practitioner who seeks to gain experience in criminal law, supplement an existing law practice, or establish a new practice in a community with a high demand for legal services.
