Mission Statement
The Office of the Child's Representative (OCR)'s mission is to give children and youth a voice in Colorado legal proceedings through high-quality legal representation that protects and promotes their safety, interests, and rights.

Our Vision: Justice, opportunity, and healthy families for all court-involved children and youth.

Statement of Duties
Whether appointed as a Guardian ad litem or Counsel for Youth, attorneys who contract with the OCR throughout Colorado obtain comprehensive support, including guidance from a mentor, a robust training program, a range of concrete legal and social science resources, and a variety of other litigation services. Even if you do not have experience in child welfare law, the array of support provided can give attorneys the tools to become effective litigators in this field. Most importantly, attorneys who contract with OCR have a wonderful opportunity to make a positive impact on the life of the child and youth. Anyone selected as a GAL or CFY would be an independent contractor and not an employee of the OCR.
