Description:
Job Summary:The Attorney will be responsible for supporting the general corporate legal needs of the company including (i) supporting business development initiatives, (ii) drafting, revising and negotiating contracts, (iii) conducting research, and (iv) providing legal advice on a broad array of topics. The Attorney will play a crucial role in ensuring our business processes are effective and efficient, and our operations remain compliant based on all applicable federal, state, and local laws. This is a full-time, in office position, M-F.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, health care management or a related field.
- Recent law graduates or attorneys with 1-3 years of experience. Candidates awaiting Texas bar exam results are encouraged to apply.
- Healthcare law experience (strongly preferred)
- One to three years of experience in a contract management role, such as purchasing or contracting strongly preferred.
- Experience in drafting leases, developing requests for proposal, negotiating terms and drafting other needed legal documents strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and counsel to financial services, pharmacy, nursing and other units across AIS Healthcare.
- Analyze state and federal licensure laws related to heath care entities and licensed heath care professionals.
- Respond to regulatory notices and inquiries from federal and state agencies.
- Draft agreements to support contractual needs of nursing, pharmacy, IVIG and Targeted Drug Delivery areas including, but not limited to, service agreements, consulting agreements, BAAs, NDAs and vendor agreements.
- Oversee the contract life cycle process from the initial drafting stage, through the redlining and approval process, and properly storing fully executed contracts.
- Participate in Compliance initiatives including the Vendor Management Program, the Risk Assessment Program, the Operational Compliance Committee, and accreditation meetings. Support the continual refreshing of AIS Healthcare's Compliance Program.
- Perform appropriate clinical, administrative and operational research.
