A Leading Digital Lending Platform Company is looking for a motivated attorney who enjoys solving complex problems to join our Legal & Compliance team. As Commercial and Product Counsel, you will focus on negotiating various commercial agreements, including sales, partnership, and vendor agreements and also advise on legal and regulatory risks relating to the company's product development lifecycle. How you'll contribute:
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, including sales, partnership, and vendor agreements in support of product and enterprise initiatives.
- Counsel our Product, Engineering, Business Development, and go-to-market teams throughout the product lifecycle on applicable legal and regulatory requirements and risks.
- Anticipate and identify legal and regulatory risks, and propose creative and effective solutions to mitigate these risks with a business-focused mindset.
- Remain up-to-date on relevant industry, consumer protection, and privacy laws and regulations.
- Partner with the broader Legal & Compliance team in various other corporate and enterprise initiatives as such opportunities arise.
Who You Are:
- At least 3-5 years of combined relevant experience in in-house legal departments, law firms, and/or governmental agencies
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
- Ability to work independently and adaptively, anticipate and mitigate friction points, and take the initiative to drive projects to completion.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
- JD and a member of a state bar.
Nice to haves:
- Experience relating to SaaS centric issues, including data privacy and security
- In-house experience at a cloud technology or fintech company
- Knowledge and application of consumer protection laws and regulations such as TILA, RESPA, ECOA, FCRA, BSA/AML, UDAAP, and GLBA
