Barnes & Thornburg LLP, an Am Law 100 firm with a nationally recognized Finance practice, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Finance Associate, with 2–4 years of experience, to join its growing team. This addition is driven by sustained client demand and long-term strategic growth, and is an outstanding opportunity for a mid-level associate looking to deepen lender-side experience within a sophisticated commercial finance practice, and a clear path for advancement.Responsibilities:
- The associate will work closely with partners and have direct client contact, representing national and regional financial institutions
- Draft and negotiate credit agreements, security agreements, amendments, real estate documents
- Will work on restructurings and workouts
- Will work on syndicated credit facilities, cash flow and asset-based lending transactions
- Manage acquisition financings as well as leveraged finance transactions, structure, document and close loan transactions
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of experience in commercial finance
- Strong background in syndicated loan and debt finance transactions
- Experience representing the lender side (agent banks, lead arrangers, institutional lenders)
- Proficiency drafting and negotiating credit agreements, security agreements, intercreditor agreements, and ancillary loan documentation
- Top academic credentials
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- Interpersonal skills to build client relationships
