Responsibilities:
Jeanette N. Little & Associates, the insurance staff counsel for An Insurance Company, is seeking a dynamic Civil Litigation - Law and Motion Attorney with 0-10 years of experience to join our Concord, CA office.

This role involves preparing a variety of motions, including demurrers, motions to strike, and motions for summary judgment. Candidates residing in Fresco County may have the option to work fully remotely, while others will need to spend some time in the office via a Hybrid Work Arrangement.

Ideal candidates will possess exceptional knowledge of civil procedure, evidence, and trial strategy, complemented by outstanding written and oral advocacy skills. We are looking for individuals who are well-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of independently managing a high-volume caseload with time-sensitive tasks. Qualifications:
  • Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload with time-sensitive tasks.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills, including knowledge of proper format and citations.
  • Proficiency in drafting various civil law motions, including but not limited to Motions for Summary Judgment, Demurrers, Motions to Strike, various discovery motions, pre-trial motions, and post-trial motions.
  • Experience in drafting appellate briefs and familiarity with the California Courts of Appeal.
  • Education, experience, and thorough understanding of the litigation process in the state of operation and local jurisdiction.
  • Understanding of local and state rules.
  • Commitment to maintaining attorney competency through participation in MCLE and continuing education programs.
  • Successful completion of the orientation and training program as designated by the Managing Attorney or the Corporate Law Department.
  • Ability to travel via commercial transportation or driving to job-related activities.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours due to workload and the nature of the work.
  • Law degree from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
  • Active license to practice law in California and membership in good standing with the California Bar.
  • Potential starting salary range: $114,400 - $218,750
    • Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience.
    • High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience.
  • Potential yearly incentive pay up to 15% of base salary.
