Description:

Associate Attorney will assist Principal Attorney with all cases . An Immigration Attorney practices exclusively Federal Immigration Law. AIL currently has two locations with offices in Raleigh and Wilmington , NC.

The Associate Attorney will conduct legal research as needed. He/She will prepare cases for final hearing, including the drafting of motions and briefs as needed. He /She will assist the senior paralegals in following up with clients for hearing prep. Review and draft immigration applications, review supporting documents provided by clients and prepare sworn statements as needed. Associate will also attend immigration hearings before EOIR/DOJ (Executive Office of Immigration Review/Dept. of Justice). Associate will attend interviews as needed with USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) and with the Asylum office in Virginia. Must be willing to travel to Charlotte when needed to attend hearings in person, although post covid many hearings are taking place via Webex. Associate will also attend check ins with clients with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

**Having the ability to communicate fluently in both Spanish and English is preferred.
