An Insurance Defense Firm, a Johnson County, Kansas litigation firm in existence since 1999, specializes in delivering counsel to large and small insurers and their insureds. We are currently seeking an associate attorney with a strong desire to develop their career as a litigator defending clients in a variety of legal actions. - Become well versed in insurance and personal injury law in Kansas and Missouri
- Write succinct and persuasive motions and briefs in district and federal courts
- Maintain a regular schedule of hearings, court appearances, depositions and mediations
Responsibilities:
- Draft and respond to motions and briefs
- Maintain consistent client contact concerning case development
- Perform legal research
- Conduct depositions of parties, witnesses and experts
- Attend court for hearings, pre-trial conferences and trial
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Licensure in Kansas or Missouri (preference for both states)
- Good writing skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently to maintain a case load and meet deadlines
