This is a full time role for an Associate Attorney at A Five Attorney Firm located in Lansing, MI. While an attorney with practice experience in family law and/or real estate law is preferred, newly admitted attorneys, or those awaiting bar results are encouraged to apply.
The Attorney will be responsible for providing legal advice, representing clients in negotiations and litigation, and conducting thorough legal research to support case strategies. This role requires excellent communication skills, a commitment to client service, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. This is a salaried position with a bonus structure.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel to clients.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients while ensuring their best interests are represented.
- Prepare and file legal documents, including briefs, motions, and pleadings.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as Westlaw to support case preparation and strategy.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, and mediations as necessary.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to family/real estate law and other areas of practice.
- Collaborate with legal administrative staff to ensure efficient case management and documentation.
Experience:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction - or awaiting bar results.
- Experience in litigation, family law, or real estate law regulations is preferred, but not required.
- Strong legal research skills with proficiency in using Westlaw or similar platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
