Job Overview:We are a Coeur d'Alene-based law firm seeking a dedicated and passionate Attorney with experience or interest in criminal and/or family law trial practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to advocate in court, combined with excellent research and legal writing skills. This role involves active courtroom litigation, client communication, and legal advocacy, requiring a proactive and energetic approach. Applicants must possess an Idaho bar license and demonstrate the ability to work effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel. While two to four years of experience is preferred, we welcome motivated applicants with a strong foundation in legal practice.
Duties:
- Represent clients in criminal and/or family law cases through all stages of litigation.
- Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, demonstrating strong legal writing skills.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and courtroom arguments.
- Advocate zealously on behalf of clients during court proceedings, including trials and hearings.
- Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates, gather information, and explain legal options.
- Engage with opposing counsel to negotiate or resolve cases when appropriate.
- Collaborate with colleagues and court personnel to ensure smooth case management and adherence to procedural requirements.
Skills:
- Proven ability in litigation, including courtroom trial experience or strong interest in trial advocacy.
- Excellent legal research and writing capabilities.
- Strong verbal communication skills for client interaction and courtroom advocacy.
- Ability to work well under pressure while managing multiple cases efficiently.
- Strong social skills with the capacity to build rapport with clients, colleagues, opposing counsel, and court staff.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for courtroom work and a proactive approach to legal challenges.
- Must hold an active Idaho bar license; prior experience in criminal or family law is preferred but not required.
Salary $125,000+ bonus DOE
