Description:
Job Overview:We are a Texas civil litigation firm with a fast-moving docket that includes wrongful foreclosure, eviction appeals, title disputes, forged deed cases, receiverships, temporary restraining orders, injunctions, business and contract disputes, probate-related litigation, post-judgment enforcement, discovery fights, summary judgment practice, and trial preparation. This is not a position for someone who wants to sit quietly in a back office and wait for perfect facts. We need an attorney who can think, write, argue, adapt, and move cases forward.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys litigation in its raw form. Our cases often involve emergency hearings, imperfect documents, aggressive opposing counsel, difficult clients, tight deadlines, and judges who expect lawyers to know the rules. We need someone who can take a complicated fact pattern, identify the legal pressure points, draft a persuasive pleading, prepare exhibits, outline an argument, and walk into court prepared.
This position is best suited for an attorney who wants to become a true civil trial lawyer. You will work on cases involving TROs, temporary injunctions, motions for summary judgment, motions to compel, sanctions, pleas to the jurisdiction, venue challenges, receivership disputes, foreclosure challenges, real-property litigation, contract claims, fraud claims, DTPA claims, post-judgment discovery, and trial settings. You will be expected to draft pleadings, prepare discovery, review evidence, communicate with clients, attend hearings, assist with trial preparation, and help build case strategy.
We are not looking for someone who needs every assignment reduced to a checklist. We are looking for someone who can be trained, but who also has initiative, judgment, urgency, and professional pride. Strong writing is mandatory. Courtroom confidence is preferred. A willingness to learn Texas procedure, evidence, and trial practice at a high level is essential.
