Job Description:
The Attorney 4 plays an important part at the Board. In this role, you will be responsible for:
  • Assisting in administering, planning, directing, and implementing the Ohio State Dental Board's Compliance program.
  • Consulting and conferring with the Supervisory Investigative Panel (SIP), Assistant Attorney General, Chief Legal Counsel, Enforcement Officers, and Monitoring Coordinator, etc. to determine course of action for alleged violators of the Dental Practice Act.
  • Drafting discipline documents including Notices of Opportunity for Hearing, consent agreements, retirements and surrenders.
  • Prepping files for Assistant Attorney General hearings.
  • Collecting, reviewing, and evaluating files once investigation is completed to determine if sufficient evidence exists to propose some type of action and drafts case review note to present to SIP to determine course of action.
  • Preparing “Goldman Hearings” for Board consideration for cases where Notice was issued but no request for a hearing was made.
  • Drafting other legal documents including examination orders/exam request letters, etc.
  • Discussing the law regulating the practice of dentistry and Board rules and policies as they relate to the disciplinary process with licensee and counsel.
  • Preparing and filing certified administrative hearing record with common pleas and court of appeals cases.

Qualifications:
Admission to Ohio Bar pursuant to Section 4705.01 of Revised Code; 12 months experience as licensed attorney; 6 months experience in employee training & development.
