Description:
Summary:The Associate General Counsel will provide complex legal advice, counsel, and representation to The Chenega Corporation and its family of companies (“Chenega”).
Responsibilities:
- Identify risks and propose alternative solutions to mitigate risks.
- Draft transactional documents.
- Provide asset and corporate level due diligence.
- Provide counsel and work as a team with others within the Strategic Business Units.
- No Supervisory duties.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Law degree from an accredited law school and minimum of five years legal experience.
- Experience in any of the following areas a plus: transactional / M&A work, Small Business; government contracting; in-house positions.
- Must be a member in good standing of the Alaska Bar Association, or a member in good standing of another states’ bar association and become a member of the Alaska Bar within the first year of employment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to analyze information and identify the relevant factual and legal issues
- Ability to communicate effectively orally, including the ability to make oral presentations
- Ability to write clear, concise, accurate, and complete legal documents and reports
- Knowledge of and ability to apply fact-finding and investigative methods, techniques, and procedures
