The Opportunity:
Vedder Price's New York office is seeking a mid-level associate with a minimum 3-5 years of experience to join its Litigation Group. Candidates should have substantive experience drafting complaints and motions, conducting discovery, taking depositions, appearing in federal, state and bankruptcy courts, negotiating settlements, and corresponding with opposing counsel and clients. Experience in creditors' rights law preferred, including collateral repossession, the Uniform Commercial Code (Articles 2, 2A and 9 in particular), equipment leasing, and commercial finance law.

All Vedder Price associates are expected to provide high-quality legal service to the firm's clients, track all chargeable and non-chargeable time in keeping with the firm's policies and standards and participate in business development, seminars, trainings and meetings in keeping with their practice area and the firm's policies and standards

Our Ideal Candidate:
  • Has a minimum 3-5 years of both litigation and bankruptcy experience
  • Has substantive experience drafting complaints and motions, conducting discovery, taking depositions, appearing in federal, state and bankruptcy courts, negotiating settlements, and corresponding with opposing counsel and clients
  • Has experience in creditors' rights law preferred, including collateral repossession, the Uniform Commercial Code (Articles 2, 2A and 9 in particular), equipment leasing, and commercial finance law
  • Must be admitted in New York or taking steps to become admitted in New York
  • New Jersey bar admittance, in addition to New York admittance, is preferred
  • Must be in good standing with the New York state bar and/or relevant State Bar
  • Has a solid academic background
  • Position also requires the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
