Description:
We are a small, collegial law firm based in midtown Manhattan. We are searching for an attorney who can assist with our growing employment litigation practice, particularly with plaintiff-side cases. This is an hourly role with potential to grow into a salaried / full-time position. It's a great opportunity for a goal-oriented lawyer looking to transition their practice or to achieve litigation mastery. There would be an opportunity to work in our office in midtown, but it would not be required.The right candidate will have the following credentials:
- A JD from a well-regarded law school.
- Must be a member in good standing of the New York bar (SDNY/EDNY admission a plus but not a strict requirement).
- High level of competence with computers and digital systems used by attorneys.
- Strong academic background and research/writing skills.
- #1 - Initiative: Must be prepared to independently manage settlement negotiations, complex drafting projects, a litigation calendar, and client interactions. Our partners will help you develop the necessary skills but you will be expected to aspire to (and eventually attain) a significant level of independence.
- #2 - Resourcefulness: Must bring intellectual curiosity and problem-solving skills to the table. You will need to master the facts of your case and to learn the law as you go.
- #3 - Efficiency: To litigate employment cases effectively, you must be capable of efficiently creating polished and presentable work product.
