Description:
The Mt. Laurel, NJ office of A Multi-Disciplinary Law Firm is currently seeking a full-time experienced General Liability Litigation Associate. This position requires familiarity with personal and commercial lines of auto insurance defense, trucking, rideshare, UM/UIM defense and coverage litigation throughout New Jersey in state and federal court. The ideal candidate will be proficient in time-management, legal writing and communication, with the ability to work as a team member in a collegial work environment. Your caseload will include evaluating and opening new files, client communications, taking depositions, preparing and argument discovery and dispositive motions, attending binding and non-binding arbitration, mediation and trial. New Jersey state and federal court experience required. A minimum of 5 years of meaningful insurance defense litigation and/or jury trial experience is preferred.Key Responsibilities:
Case Management:
- Independently manage a diverse caseload of insurance defense and/or coverage matters from inception through resolution.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop case strategies and defenses.
- Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
- Ensure compliance with client litigation and billing guidelines
Client Interaction:
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and delivering outstanding results.
- Advise clients on complex legal issues and provide strategic guidance to minimize risk and achieve favorable outcomes.
Litigation Work:
- Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
- Conduct discovery, including interrogatories, depositions, examinations under oath, and document review.
Coverage Analysis:
- Perform detailed analysis of insurance policies to determine coverage obligations and potential liabilities.
- Negotiate and resolve coverage disputes with opposing counsel and insurers.
Team Collaboration:
- Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and support staff, providing guidance and support as needed (Senior Attorneys).
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure thorough and comprehensive handling of all aspects of each case.
Business Development:
- Participate in marketing and business development activities to attract and retain clients.
- Contribute to the firm's thought leadership by writing articles, presenting at events, and staying current on industry trends and developments.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law in New Jersey
- Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
