The primary functions of the position are:
Oversee antitrust policy and compliance and provide antitrust counselling and training to employees of AAR and MxV Rail, as well as to AAR's committees, which, among other things, develop and implement industry standards and rules; and

To assist in the development of policy positions and to lead and/or support advocacy on behalf of AAR's members with regard to economic regulation of the industry and other matters within the jurisdiction of the Surface Transportation Board (“STB”).

Requirements:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and minimum of 10 years of relevant legal experience.
  • Admission to the D.C. Bar.
  • Expertise in the substantive areas of responsibility (may develop expertise in new areas over reasonable timeframe).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with internal clients and AAR member representatives.
  • Ability to work independently, be proactive in identifying matters warranting legal counsel, exercise sound judgments with limited supervision, but report to/seek guidance from SVP Law when appropriate.
  • Highest ethical standards and degree of professionalism.
