About the job
We are seeking a highly qualified in-house lawyer with at least 5 years of experience in commercial real estate law to join our dynamic and leading development company. This is a full-time salaried position with benefits, paid sick leave, vacation time and annual bonuses.
Responsibilities:
- Negotiate write, review and redline purchase and sale agreements and commercial leases
- Review and comment on sophisticated commercial real estate loans
- Write and review and negotiate commercial CC&Rs. OEAs and REAs
- Summarize existing leases
- Extract provisions from existing leases for compliance of use provisions for potential new leases
- Examine and review Preliminary Title Reports
- Issue notices of default and all aspects of legal documents associated with a major shopping center developer.
- Interface with outside council for some litigation
- Prioritize and multitask various responsibilities with the help of an existing experienced lawyer on staff
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate law with a focus on the specific tasks listed above
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle a variety of tasks with ease
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in conjunction with other departments within the company, but mainly the CEO
- JD degree and licensed to practice law in the state of California.
- Familiarity with CEQA a plus
